    Fifteen years ago in Kembatta-Tembaro, the area where Bogaletch Gebre, the founder of non-profit KMG Ethiopia, also known as Kembatti Mentti Gezzima-Tope, grew up, virtually every girl underwent the rite of passage that involved cutting off her clitoris and labia.
