Current debates around artificial intelligence often overlook the environmental and human impacts of the AI supply chain. The boom of generative AI has launched tech giants into a race to increase their computing capabilities that is already entailing high costs for some communities.
This project will investigate what those costs are in three specific territories around the globe, explaining what lies behind this resource-hungry and deeply opaque global supply chain.
