Making Local Connections to Global Health Stories Fall 2024 Teacher Fellowship Lesson Plans
The following lesson plans were created and facilitated by educators from eight U.S. states who participated in the Fall 2024 Pulitzer Center Teacher Fellowship program, "Making Local Connections to Global Health Stories." Each lesson is designed to be taught within 1-3 class periods and includes a downloadable lesson plan, teaching materials, evaluation rubrics, tips and reflections from the educator, and examples of work by students who participated in the lessons in fall 2024. These lessons reached 1,500 students when they were first shared in fall 2024 and resulted in infographics, presentations, plans to share learning over social media, debates, and more. Responses by nearly 500 students to post-lesson surveys reflected that 79% of students increased their understanding of global health issues after the lesson. 73% learned about one or more ways to take action about the issue they explored. The Pulitzer Center is so proud to have worked with this incredible team of Teacher Fellows, and to support the truly inspiring projects below.
