Global Issues, Local Contexts Spring 2025 Teacher Fellowship Resources

The following lesson plans were created and facilitated by educators from eight U.S. states who participated in the Spring 2025 Pulitzer Center Teacher Fellowship program, "Global Issues, Local Contexts: News for Civic Knowledge and Engagement." Each lesson is designed to be taught within 1-3 class periods and includes a downloadable lesson plan, teaching materials, evaluation rubrics, tips and reflections from the educator, and examples of work by students who participated in the lessons in spring 2025. These lessons reached 1,012 students when they were first shared in spring 2025 and resulted in infographics, presentations, direct engagement with local news outlets, lesson plans shared with younger students, and more.
