The expansion of oil palm in North Maluku in the last 10 years has become more massive and widespread. Currently, the primary forest area in Halmahera has been converted into oil palm plantations, even though this area is a living space for a number of endemic animals.
This project aims to chronicle the impact that palm oil investment in Halmahera has had on the environment and the habitat of endemic animals and how it affects the forests in South Halmahera.
