Manuela Andreoni

2021 RAINFOREST INVESTIGATIONS FELLOW (BRAZIL)

Manuela Andreoni is a Brazilian journalist whose investigations have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine, BBC’s Panorama, Univision, Agência Pública, and others. 

Her work includes an in-depth look at the logistics corridor cutting through the Amazon to get Brazilian commodities to China and an investigation into the systemic failures that give officers accused of crimes free rein to kill in Rio de Janeiro. In 2016-18, she was a fellow at the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism and Columbia Journalism Investigations in New York.

She is a 2011 graduate of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a 2017 graduate of the Columbia University Journalism School.
