In some areas, many shop houses, houses, and warehouses have been abandoned. Meanwhile, in other areas, the road infrastructure has been raised, making the floor of the house lower than the road. The roofs of the houses are getting shorter, making these houses look like dwarven homes.

Baik banjir akibat luapan sungai maupun banjir rob dari laut. Di beberapa area, banyak ruko, rumah, dan gudang ditinggalkan kosong. Sementara di area lain, infrastruktur jalan terus dinaikkan, membuat lantai rumah lebih rendah dari jalanan. Atap rumah pun makin pendek, menjadikan rumah-rumah ini seperti rumah kurcaci. Banyak pengusaha di kawasan industri ini mencoba terus bertahan dengan terus meninggikan bangunan atau berbagai upaya lainnya.
