Our reporting project aims to monitor respiratory disease data during Amazon fires and compare it to the rate of deforestation in 2020. Inevitably, this overlap, as indicated by a technical note signed by three researchers from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and the National Center for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alerts (Cemaden), will demand treatment in hospitals and units already compromised by the burden of the coronavirus.
