Julia Dolce is a reporter and photojournalist.

She currently lives in the Amazon region of Pará and covers socio-environmental conflicts and traditional peoples in the Amazon and the Cerrado for outlets such as Open Democracy and Agenda Propia. She has worked on the editorial staffs of Agência Pública, the agribusiness observatory De Olho nos Ruralistas, and the newspaper Brasil de Fato.

In 2017, she spent a month working in Palestine for the news website Alternative Information Center, in Beit Sahour (West Bank), where she produced a series of reports on the Israeli occupation.

Her investigation "Famélicos: The hunger that the Judiciary does not see," published in Agência Pública, received an honorable mention at the 36th Human Rights Journalism Award and is part of the Special on Hunger, cited by the Gabriel García Márquez Award as one of the 10 best reports in Latin America in 2019. Through her work at Agência Pública, Dolce was a finalist for the 2020 Vladimir Herzog Award, as part of the team who produced the "Lawless Amazon" special report, and received an honorable mention for the 2020 Roche Health Journalism Award, for a special report covering the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018, Dolce was also a finalist for the Anamatra Human Rights Award, for the story "Discarded maternity, stories of mothers fired after pregnancy."
