Two Iranian government officials resist their government from within, are imprisoned, and flee to Turkey to escape the regime’s crackdown on dissent. But after they arrive, one of them dies under unusual circumstances.

In the podcast series Lethal Dissent, reporter Fariba Nawa works to unravel the mystery of what happened. In the process, she enters Turkey’s underworld of kidnappers-for-hire and shady government officials, and takes listeners inside an Iranian campaign to snatch exiles who stand up to the regime.
