Fariba Nawa

Fariba Nawa is the host and editor of the On Spec podcast, which she co-founded with a group of freelance journalists in 2019.
Nawa is an award-winning investigative journalist who has covered wars, migration, and human rights from such places as Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Germany, and Turkey. Her work has been published in TIME, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Financial Times, among other media outlets.
She's the author of Opium Nation and co-author of several other books, including The American Way: Stories of Invasion.
