Erin Banco
OUTREACH AND PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
Erin received her bachelor's degree in journalism and African literature and languages from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2011 and joined the Pulitzer Center soon after.
During her time studying at UW-Madison, Erin worked as the campus editor, multimedia editor and executive TV producer for The Daily Cardinal , the sixth oldest daily student newspaper in the nation. She also worked as the education editor for Madison Commons, a community news website, and interned in USA TODAY's investigative department in 2010.
Erin is also a former member of Team USA in the sport of synchronized figure skating. Because of her passion for the sport and her desire to learn web design, Erin founded Get It Called, an educational-based social networking site for registered U.S. synchronized figure skaters, in 2010.
Erin's journalistic interests stem from her UW-Madison education where she spent three years learning the Arabic language and studied the evolution of Islam. She is interested in the in-depth and on-scene reporting regarding the political shifts and citizen revolutions occurring in the North Africa.
