Alexandra Harris

Alexandra Harris earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a pre-med concentration at the University of Florida, where she specialized in data, environmental, and investigative journalism.
She was the health reporter at The Independent Florida Alligator during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she reported data-driven stories and an international project. She then served as the science/environment reporter, covering university energy and climate issues, science features, and metro news.
Her work has been featured in The Gainesville Sun, WUFT News, and the investigative podcast Why Don't We Know.
She served as the data editor for the Watershed project, combining her passions for storytelling and coding.
Harris is the graphics reporter for the Times Union in Albany, New York.
