Disha Shetty

INTERNATIONAL RJF GRANTEE

Disha Shetty is an independent science journalist based in India. She mainly writes on public health, climate change, and the environment, with a focus on gender. Her work has appeared in Forbes, where she is a science contributor, Undark, Vice, and IndiaSpend, among others.

Shetty holds a bachelor's in mass media from SIES (Nerul), a PG diploma in TV journalism from ACJ, and a master's in science, environment, and medicine journalism from Columbia University.

She is the winner of the Global Health Reporting Contest (2018) by the International Center for Journalists. Apart from Pulitzer Center grants, Shetty has received reporting grants from the International Women’s Media Fund (IWMF) and the Earth Journalism Network (EJN).

She was among the 2019 Reham al-Farra journalism fellows to the United Nations. Shetty has previously held full-time positions at IndiaSpend, DNA, and The Times Group.
