Every Belarusian officer takes an oath by which they pledge to serve their nation. During the protests following the rigged 2020 elections, law enforcers broke this oath.
Most of them turned their backs on the people and began carrying out Lukashenka's criminal orders. But there were also those who refused to cooperate with the regime. Among them were the heroes of Jan Bluz's film—former militia lieutenant colonel Aleksandr Azarov, former militia cadet Vladislav Botyan, and former Belarusian army officer Sergey Biend. Despite having to flee the country because of this, they remained loyal to the nation.
