Nourelhuda Altallaa grew up, went to school and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Yousef Alarsan, in the Syrian city of Mouhasan. They married and began planning a family, agreeing they would name their first daughter Rahaf. But when fighters from the Islamic State captured Mouhasan, Nour and her new husband, then 23 and 28 years old, had no choice but to flee. They left everything behind, seeking safety in Europe.
