Tainted Water: How Testing Reveals Emerging Risk in our Drinking Supply

Authors:

PFAS chemicals, also known as “forever chemicals,” have become an emerging health risk nationwide. In a novel testing effort, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel commissioned a lab to test tap water in communities throughout Wisconsin.

The results were alarming—sample PFAS levels were far above the federal Environmental Protection Agency’s safety guidelines. This means that tens of thousands of households statewide are receiving drinking water that the EPA says may be harmful.
