Sustainable Farming Revolution in Puerto Rico
Country:
Author:
Puerto Rico has long imported the majority of its food. But sustainable farmers on the island want to build better agriculture systems that can feed the majority of the population while mitigating the effects of climate change on farming.
Syra Ortiz-Blanes, a reporter at el Nuevo Herald and the Miami Herald through Report for America and a Columbia Journalism School Post-Grad Fellow, visits farms across Puerto Rico to learn about the possibilities and challenges ahead for sustainably-grown food and the people who grow it.
