Filmmaker Elahe Esmaili returned to her hometown of Mashhad, Iran, to visit family for the new year. Although Esmaili stopped wearing a hijab many years ago, she was still expected to wear it when she was among her deeply religious family.

However, influenced by the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, she decided to stop wearing the hijab on all occasions, challenging her family's norms.

The documentary A Move takes us into the unique space of an Iranian family after the big social movement, highlighting the feminist resistance that still exists and makes an impact, despite suppression.
