The Lasting Impact of COVID-19 on Charlotte's Black Residents

This project is a collaboration with the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Post, and NC Health News.

It explores how and why COVID-19 has a disproportionate impact on Charlotte, North Carolina's Black residents, exposing disparities in access to health care and socioeconomic inequities and what needs to change to address these disparities. Over the course of six articles, the reporting will look for solutions employed in other places to produce positive impacts in an underserved community often overlooked and undervalued by traditional media.
