The Fossil Money Trail in the Amazon

Country:

Author:

Financial institutions, be it international banks, asset managers or insurers, have made numerous climate pledges, promising the world to stop enabling fossil fuel expansion. This is in tune with the International Energy Agency’s warning against funding any new oil and gas infrastructure, if we are to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Despite that, they continue to funnel money toward dirty projects, even those who put the world's lungs at risk.

Working for Disclose, journalist Alexander Abdelilah combines the analysis of exclusive financial data and on-the-ground reporting to expose how dodgy financial deals endanger the Amazon rainforest and local communities.
