Varsha Bansal is an independent tech reporter based in Bangalore, India. As life becomes more and more online, she is curious about c the intended and unintended consequences technology and the internet can have on people.
She is a regular contributor with WIRED alongside having written for TIME, MIT Technology Review, Slate, Rest of World, Al Jazeera, The Caravan, and more. Prior to this, she worked with two of India's biggest business newspapers, Economic Times and Livemint, to capture the growing tech ecosystem in India.
Bansal holds a master's degree from Georgetown University. She will be using the AI Accountability Fellowship to understand the impact AI has on gig workers in India.
