Una Wilson
2023 REPORTING FELLOW
Una Wilson is a recent Guy T. Carswell scholar graduate of Wake Forest University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Journalism and Environmental Studies. She has conducted multiple independent scholarly research projects during her time as an undergraduate. Most notably, she has studied the sociocultural factors influencing urban agriculture systems in New York City and has performed ecosystem conservation research in the gold-mined, deforested regions of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. As a student, Wilson founded a new Environment section in Wake Forest's school newspaper. Her reporting on issues of environmental justice and food apartheid facing her local community has been published in the local news outlet, Triad City Beat. Her mission is to foster understanding of complex, global environmental stories among diverse audiences using compassion and clear communication.
