Susan Zoë Greenwald
TEACHER FELLOW, AI TEACHER ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBER
Susan Zoë Greenwald is a teacher, learner, wanderer, and disability advocate. With a BS in Mathematics from SUNY - Binghamton and an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University in Education, Susan has taught mathematics for over 20 years.
Susan is passionate about decentering the common mathematics curriculum to being one that is origin informed, place based, inclusive and relevant. She teaches probability and statistics in Cheltenham High School. In 2020 she wrote “ Visualizing The Pandemic: An Exploration in Descriptive Statistics and Personal Stories” as a 2020 Pulitzer Teacher Fellow. Teaching statistics to develop student’s critical thinking skills and mathematical confidence is a joy for Susan. During the summers Susan travels and learns with educational programs like the Navajo Math Circles Project. Drinking tea, spending quality time in the forest and (occasionally) mediating are some of the daily colors that bring vibrancy to her life and teaching practice.
