Sara Sheridan is a freelance journalist and a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University. She received her M.S. in Journalism from Columbia Journalism School, where she focused on data reporting, feature writing, and local news in New York City. Her areas of coverage include gentrification, labor rights, public policy, food, and restaurants (which, she will argue, are all connected).
Sara holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University. Her most powerful education, though, comes from her decade of work in the hospitality industry. She proudly hails from Philadelphia, where her recent work on local protests against police brutality was featured in The Daily Beast.
