Renata Brito

Renata Brito is a Brazilian multi-format journalist covering migration with the Associated Press.
Based in Barcelona, she has reported extensively on the impact of the European Union’s border policies on human rights and investigated shipwrecks in both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
Over her decade at the AP, Brito has also covered the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic in both Spain and her native Brazil, the independence movement in Catalonia, and violent crime in Rio de Janeiro.
Her work has been recognized by the Livingston Award, the World Press Photo, the Overseas Press Club, and others.
