Olivia Diaz

REPORTING FELLOW

Olivia Diaz, a graduate of the University of Richmond, centered her reporting for the Pulitzer Center on food insecurity in Detroit, Michigan. Diaz was a crime and public safety reporter for The Post and Courier in Charleston, covering breaking news and criminal justice issues in the Lowcountry region for South Carolina's largest daily newspaper. She is now a graduate student at American University and a Fellow at The Washington Post covering criminal justice in Fairfax County.

During her time at UR, Diaz served as editor-in-chief of The Collegian, the campus's independent student news source. Diaz was also a fellow for the Poynter Institute’s College Media Project, a two-time intern at CBS News and a writer for the Capital News Service.
