Leila Goldstein

Leila Goldstein is a print and audio journalist based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, covering stories spanning labor rights violations, environmental destruction, and human trafficking in Southeast Asia.

Her reporting has appeared on NPR and BBC, and in The Guardian, Marketplace, The World, Dialogue Earth, the Southeast Asia Globe, CamboJA News, and Prachatai.

Goldstein was selected as a 2025 Ferriss-University of California, Berkeley, Journalism Fellow to report on the expansion of ketamine production and trafficking in Southeast Asia. As a 2024 Pulitzer Center Longworth Media Fellow, she covered the impact of U.S. solar tariffs on the global solar manufacturing supply chain, from Vietnam to Ohio.

The Earth Journalism Network also awarded her grant funding to support her reporting.
