Ini Ekott

Ini Ekott is a journalist and researcher who has covered everything from politics and economics to the environment. He has worked with Premium Times and has written for Mongabay, Africa in Fact, and The New York Times. Ekott is the founder and editor of Pluboard, a media and financial information platform that focuses on business, the economy, politics, and the environment—and how these forces shape people’s lives.

Ekott’s work as a reporter and editor has exposed government failures, corporate malpractice, systemic injustices, and human rights abuses.

He has received several honors, including Wole Soyinka Investigative Reporting Awards, the Global Integrity Africa Researcher Award, and the Kevin Carmody Award from the Society of Environmental Journalists. His reporting on illicit wildlife trafficking was a finalist in the Fetisov Journalism Awards.

Ekott contributed to the renowned global Pandora Papers investigation led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
