Over the years, Carl Gierstorfer has earned a reputation for approaching topics of nature and society in a unique manner. His last film, "We Want You To Live—Liberia's Fight Against Ebola" was a deeply empathic look at what Ebola did to a community in Central Liberia. Filmed in the midst of the outbreak over a period of two months, "We Want You To Live" has been broadcast to great acclaim on ARTE in Germany and France, Al Jazeera America, SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, DR in Denmark and is distributed by internationally PBS Distribution. Carl is the writer & director of "The Bloody Truth—how colonialism created the AIDS-pandemic" which was broadcast in over 25 countries. Carl holds a degree in biology from University College London and lives in Berlin, Germany.
