Annie Zulu

Annie Zulu is an award-winning freelance investigative journalist and documentary storyteller from Zambia. She reports on climate change, human rights, gender, mental health, governance, and social justice, focusing on underreported issues affecting vulnerable communities.
Her work has appeared in The Continent, ViewFinder, Bird Story Agency, Makanday Centre for Investigative Journalism, Africa Brief, Crown TV, and other regional and international outlets.
Zulu is the 2026 recipient of the Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling presented by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), becoming the first Zambian journalist to receive the honor. She has also won MISA Zambia’s 2025 Golden Online Journalism Award and 2024 Golden TV Journalism Award, among other honors.
