2025 Reporting Fellows to Visit Westchester Community College

Asia Alexander, a 2025 Mental Well-Being Reporting Fellow, and Tsisnami Sakvarlishvili, a 2025 Reporting Fellow, will visit Westchester Community College on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

During their visit, Alexander and Sakvarlishvili will speak with students and faculty about their experiences in the Reporting Fellows program. They will share insights from their reporting projects, reflect on their time in the program, and offer guidance to students interested in applying for the 2026 cohort.

Alexander is a journalist and communications specialist with a passion for storytelling, media strategy, and public relations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in political science, at Howard University. She reports for The Boston Globe and has worked with Forbes, NASA, General Motors, United Talent Agency, and the United States Senate. Her Pulitzer Center-supported project, Under Pressure: The Hidden Cost of Being a Black Teacher in Mississippi, explores the growing mental health crisis among Black educators in rural Southern communities, with a focus on Mississippi.

Tsisnami Sakvarlishvili is a Georgian-American journalist, writer, and activist whose work amplifies the voices of marginalized communities and champions freedom and democracy. She has reported on politics, culture, and the Georgian diaspora in New York, interviewing figures such as former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili and NBA star Zaza Pachulia.

Her Pulitzer Center-supported project, The Hidden Lives of Georgian Immigrant Caregivers, shines a light on the overlooked lives of immigrant caregivers in the United States.
