Le Rainforest Journalism Fund vise à appuyer et à renforcer les capacités des journalistes locaux, régionaux et internationaux qui couvrent les questions liées aux forêts tropicales humides. L'une des trois régions de forêt tropicale humide ciblée est le bassin du Congo, qui s'étend sur plusieurs pays, à savoir, la République Démocratique du Congo, la République du Congo, la République centrafricaine, le Cameroun, la Guinée équatoriale et le Gabon. Le Comité Consultatif du Bassin du Congo est composé des journalistes, spécialistes des questions relatives aux forêts tropicales humides, et ses membres contribuent à informer sur les priorités et l'orientation de cette initiative par leur compréhension critique des contextes locaux et régionaux.

Les membres du comité consultatif du RJF du Bassin du Congo examinent les propositions de projets de reportages locaux et régionaux axés sur les forêts tropicales humides dans la grande région et fournissent des orientations indépendantes à cet égard. Le comité contribue également à l'organisation de rencontres annuelles pour les journalistes qui couvrent l'actualité du Bassin du Congo.

The Rainforest Journalism Fund aims to support and build capacity of local, regional, and international journalists reporting on issues related to tropical rainforests. One of the three rainforest regions of focus is the Congo Basin, spanning across countries including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Cameroon. The Congo Basin RJF advisory committee is composed of leaders in journalism on issues relating to tropical rainforests, and members help to inform the priorities and direction of this initiative with their critical understanding of regional and local contexts.

Members of the Congo Basin RJF advisory committee review and provide independent guidance for proposals for local and regional reporting projects focusing on tropical rainforests in the greater region. The committee also helps to develop annual convenings for journalists reporting from and on the Congo Basin. Current members of the Congo Basin RJF Advisory Committee are:
