The Bolivian Amazon is being devastated by land traffickers.
In Monte Verde, an Indigenous territory that connects the Chiquitanía region with the Bolivian Amazon, the forest is disappearing in two ways: one through government-authorized projects and the other driven by land-trafficking networks.
In just two decades, this territory has lost more than 13,000 hectares of forest, while traffickers have traded more than 18,000 hectares without the government being able to stop them.
