Informational Poster: Reducing Your PFAS Exposure

Author:
afirehouseofforeverchemicals
English

Toxic PFAS associated with firefighting harm those with few resources to respond.

SECTIONS

An informational poster about PFAS, commonly called "forever chemicals," is aimed at volunteer firefighters in Maine. The Maine Morning Star, in partnership with the Pulitzer Center, has published a three-part investigative series by independent journalist Marina Schauffler examining the prevalence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in and from firefighting, particularly in the use of foam known as AFFF and in firefighter turnout gear.
