The Maine Morning Star in partnership with the Pulitzer Center has published a 3-part investigative series by independent journalist Marina Schauffler examining the prevalence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in and from firefighting, particularly in the use of foam known as AFFF and in firefighter turnout gear.
