An English summary of this report is below. The original report, published in French on Radio Okapi, follows.

Artisanal logging is one of the most lucrative activities in many provinces of the DRC. A World Bank study conducted in 2015 revealed that the volume of timber production reaches between three and four million cubic meters every year. According to the same data quoted by CAFI, only 300,000 m3 of that number comes from industrial logging. In fact, over 90% of the country's timber undoubtedly comes from the artisanal sector. If properly managed, this sector could become a provider of jobs and well-being, and make a significant contribution to the national economy. So, how should the artisanal logging sector be organized in the DRC?
