The Black Sea is an inland sea bordered by Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and Georgia. Many of Europe's rivers empty into it and it is the location of some of the world's most important wetlands.

But the Black Sea, its shoreline and inter-tidal areas are in big trouble, some would say on the brink of an environmental disaster.

Now, through a series of essays and photographs, Puliitzer Center grantee Dimiter Kenarov has begun to create an environmental map of the area. He talks about the project on Australian radio.
