Capturing Change: A Conversation on Photojournalism and Storytelling

Join Pulitzer Center grantee and photographer Natalie Keyssar and Seyma Bayram, a journalist and assistant professor of journalism at Hunter College, for a conversation exploring the power of photojournalism to document political upheaval, migration, and youth culture. Through her work, Keyssar captures the personal and often unseen impacts of conflict and social change across the globe.

The event will begin with a presentation of Keyssar’s photography, followed by a conversation with Bayram and an audience Q&A.

A reception will follow the talk. RSVP is required.

Keyssar will also visit classes and speak with students during her visit to Hunter College.

Keyssar is a documentary photographer based in Brooklyn, New York, whose work focuses on the personal effects of political turmoil and conflict, youth culture, and migration. Her photography has appeared in several publications, includingThe New York Times Magazine, TIME, Bloomberg Businessweek, National Geographic, and The New Yorker. 

She has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the International Center of Photography's Infinity Emerging Photographer Award and support from the Pulitzer Center, the Magnum Foundation, and National Geographic Society.
