The recent Russian invasion has led countless Ukrainians to enlist as soldiers or medics in an effort to aid both the Army and displaced civilians. This project, drawn from weeks of reporting on the ground, traces the experience of citizens involved in the resistance, from those who have been engaged in the conflict since the Maidan Uprising years ago to new volunteers.
