The action of the police as a militia is nothing new, especially in the Amazon, which has witnessed massacres such as those that occurred in Eldorado dos Carajás and Pau D’Arco. But this militia action found fertile ground in the last four years, supported by the discourse and actions of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
