The Dispute Over Water in the Land of the Tristes Trópicos (Portuguese)

Country:

Author:

The purpose of this project is to show the impacts of water scarcity and the lives impacted by the dispute over water resources at the origin springs feeding the Pantanal and Amazon. We will also show initiatives promoted to ensure the protection of the springs of the two largest river basins in Brazil, the Amazon and the Paraguay-Paraná.

The Serra do Norte is an example for the nation of Brazil of the impact of the destruction of Cerrado vegetation. The Cerrado is considered the origin of waters that support the Amazon and the Pantanal.

The stories from this project will be published in NatGeo Brasil, El Pais, and on the Fervura no Clima website.
