Corruption: The System Behind the Looting of Cameroon's Forests

Country:

Author:

According to Global Forest Watch, Cameroon lost more than 100,000 hectares of primary rainforest in 2020. This is nearly double the losses recorded in 2019, and this increase can be explained due to changes in cultivation, logging, and large agribusiness projects.

Journalist Josiane Kouagheu investigates the system and corruption behind the plundering of Cameroon’s forests for Le Monde Afrique.
