Susan Ferriss

SENIOR EDITOR

Before joining the Pulitzer Center, Susan Ferriss was an investigative journalist at the Center for Public Integrity. Her award-winning stories changed school policing policies that criminalize children and exposed systemic abuse of immigrant workers and families. Susan was a staff reporter for the San Francisco Examiner, the Sacramento Bee, and spent a decade as a Mexico-Latin America correspondent for Cox Newspapers. Her series on Mexican economic reforms, "Broken Promises," won Overseas Press Club honors and other awards. She's covered the border, conflict, and war in South and Central America and produced a documentary, The Golden Cage, and a book, The Fight in the Fields, both about farmworkers.
