Simeon Tegel is a British journalist based in Lima, Peru, but often roaming across Latin America. His work on issues including human rights, climate change, corruption, the drug trade, and democracy has appeared in The Washington Post, The Independent, VICE News, U.S. News & World Report, and GlobalPost, among many others. His writing in Spanish has been published in magazines, newspapers, and websites including Spain's El País. Tegel has an interdisciplinary master's in Latin American studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and translated the classic Peruvian work of history Los Incas to English. A rock climber, backcountry backpacker, and surfer, he would not be anywhere other than Peru.
