Nick McCool

Nick McCool is an award-winning broadcast journalist, anchor and producer from Methuen, Massachusetts. A 2020 graduate of Boston University with degrees in Journalism and Political Science, McCool has worked in national and regional broadcasting, including NBC's Meet the Press and WCVB-TV Channel 5, ABC's Boston affiliate. McCool has also served in state and international political communications, with stints in Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker's Press Office and at Grayling, one of the largest public affairs firms in Great Britain. At Boston University's campus television station, BUTV10, McCool's work on-air has been recognized with multiple college awards from the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. During his time at the network, McCool anchored BUTV10's live 2018 election special, Midterm Mandate, interviewed national and international lawmakers and served as the voice of BU Women's Basketball on the Patriot League Network on Stadium.
McCool enjoys investigative journalism because it allows him to invest in larger, in-depth projects that the day-to-day news cycle leaves behind. As an aspiring national political reporter, McCool's collaboration with the Howard Center has provided him invaluable experience not only in holding public officials accountable, but digging deeper into data and searching farther to find the stories that matter to audiences across the country.
