GRANTEE

Mohammed Hafeedh is an independent Investigative Journalist and Field Researcher from Yemen. Hafeedh works at the heart of a hostile and complex media environment, in a country ravaged by conflict for over a decade. Navigating areas of fractured authority, weak state presence, and constant security risks, he has built a solid career in independent investigative journalism through years of fieldwork and perseverance in the face of immense challenges.

With more than eight years of experience, Hafeedh focuses on covering the humanitarian, economic, and political impacts of war in Yemen—especially on vulnerable communities such as fishermen, displaced people, and women. His work investigates corruption, human rights violations, illegal exploitation of natural resources, and climate and environmental degradation resulting from unchecked activity and state collapse.

His reporting has been published on regional and international platforms such as Al Jazeera, Raseef22, and TRT World, and he previously worked as a correspondent for AWP news agency. He has also produced in-depth investigative studies for human rights organizations and research centers, covering pressing environmental, social, and economic issues.

Hafeedh has received advanced training in journalist safety, fact-checking, and narrative storytelling. He is committed to independent journalism as a tool for accountability and change, and strives to bring the untold stories of Yemenis to a global audience through rigorous, human-centered reporting.
