Michela Wrong

Michela Wrong joined Reuters as a foreign correspondent after attending the University of Cambridge. She has spent more than three decades writing about Africa, first as a Reuters correspondent and then as the Financial Times Africa correspondent.
Her books include In the Footsteps of Mr Kurtz, the story of former Zaire President Mobutu Sese Seko's rise and fall; I Didn’t Do it for You, focussing on the Red Sea nation of Eritrea; It’s Our Turn to Eat, an examination of Kenyan corruption; and Borderlines, a novel set in the Horn of Africa. Her latest book, Do Not Disturb, is a scathing assessment of the Rwandan Patriotic Front and President Paul Kagame. It earned her a doctorate from the University of Cambridge.
Wrong's works regularly feature on the recommended reading lists of university courses in international relations and African studies and have been translated into French, Mandarin, German, Italian, and Spanish.
She regularly writes freelance pieces for Foreign Affairs magazine, The Atlantic, The Guardian, The Spectator, The Times, and The New York Times. She has been invited to comment on African current affairs by the BBC, Al Jazeera, and CNN.
