GRANTEE

Max Graham is a freelance journalist based in Alaska, where he reports on mining, oil, commercial fishing, and other environmental issues.

Formerly a food and agriculture fellow at Grist, he has written stories about oil development and farming in rural Alaska, a salmon crisis along the Yukon River, a microchip gold rush in Oregon, and urban ‘food forests’ and community fridges in cities from Tucson to Philadelphia.

Graham worked for two years as a reporter at the Chilkat Valley News, the local newspaper in Haines, Alaska. He got his start in journalism covering breaking news as a summer intern at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
