Marco Simoncelli

Marco Simoncelli is an independent photojournalist and radio-journalist focused on Sub Saharan Africa. After completing his university studies in literature and journalism, he specialized in the history and geopolitical evolution of the African continent.
Based first in Maputo, then in Dakar, and now in Addis Ababa, he has extensively covered news events and produced multimedia in-depth reports addressing political and social issues, with a specific emphasis on conflicts, humanitarian crises, migrations, and environmental topics throughout the African continent.
In recent years, his work explored the links between armed insurgencies, the climate crisis, land grabbing, and migration in the Sahel and now in Horn of Africa. His reports and photos appear in Italian and international agencies and media outlets.
